A late 19th century 18ct gold amethyst and rose-cut diamond brooch. Amethyst calculated weight 8.60cts, based on estimated dimensions of 11.8 by 11.1 by 9.5mms. French assay marks. Length 3.4cms. 16.9gms. Overall condition good. General light to moderate marks and wear, with some small dents to the metal tubes, generally to the sides and back. Diamonds well matched. Diamonds fairly bright. Amethyst is a fairly deep and vibrant, violet purple hue, well saturated, with good clarity and some typical inclusions. One surface reaching inclusion to one side.
