A late 19th century gold amethyst and split pearl cross pendant.Austrian marks, indistinct. Length 6cms. 7.5gms. Overall condition good. Light to moderate wear and discolouration in keeping with age. Some glue residue can be seen to the lower amethyst. Amethysts are a well matched fairly deep, medium violet purple hue, well saturated, with god clarity. Amethysts in good condition with few minor abrasions. Split pearls in good condition. Width 3.5cms. Foreign marks to the surmount loop, partially indistinct, probably Austrian. Metal tests as approximately 19-21ct gold. Possibly 18ct gold with gilt finish. Please see the Important Notices for Purchasers for coloured gemstones.
