An early 20th century gold sapphire and old-cut diamond hinged bangle.With report 79231-12, dated 28th August 2019, from GCS, stating total sapphire weight 3.96cts, no heat. Estimated total diamond weight 0.75ct, G-I colour, SI1-P1 clarity. Inner diameter 6cms. 12gms. Overall condition good. General light to moderate marks and wear in keeping with age. Appears to have been polished. Personal engraving to one side reads '15 - Nobre - 917'. Diamonds bright. Some diamonds with typical small nicks and abrasions. Sapphires are a medium to fairly deep, slightly violet blue hue, well saturated, generally with good clarity. Some with colour zoning. Sapphires in good condition. Width (at widest) 6.4mms. Metal tests as approximately 17-18ct gold. Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns. Fellows does not guarantee the standard of gold or platinum unless an item is hallmarked.
