An Art Deco platinum and 18ct gold A-type jade cabochon and diamond ring.Verbal from GCS, stating jadeite jade, no indications of impregnation. Jade calculated weight 6.12cts, based on estimated dimensions of 13.6 by 9.8 by 5.1mms. Stamped Pt 18ct. Ring size N1/2. 4gms. Overall condition good. General light marks and wear. Wear to the white metal plating. Estimated total diamond weight 0.05ct. Diamonds fairly bright. Jade is a slightly mottled light to medium slightly bluish green hue, with a slightly darker patch to one side. Jade in good condition with minor abrasions. Stamped Pt 18ct. Metal tests as approximately 18ct gold, with some platinum to the shoulders. Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns. Fellows does not guarantee the standard of gold or platinum unless an item is hallmarked.
