Description
Translation provided by Youdao
A beautifully painted copper shows the portrait of the Archangel Gabriel, with a narrow face, which, however, reveals the pleated robe covered with a fine and virtuous curtain, the wings on the back, and also the iconographic attribute of the character, the cartridge inscribed with AVE GRAZIA PLENA. It is therefore part of a diptych that had a Virgin of the Annunciation on the other side, so much so that the Archangel has his mouth open and speaks as if he were greeting Mary. The state of preservation is almost perfect and all parts of the painting are legible. Most of all, you can understand the quality of the painting and the subtle play of light. Oil on Cooper 29,5 x 23 cm
