A collection of Chinese jade and hardstone carvings, 20th century, comprising: a standing figure, wearing a long robe with a hu board in his hands, 17cm high, wood stand, a bi disc, of circular form with a central aperture, incised to one side with the eight trigrams and the twelve zodiac animals to the other side, 13cm diameter, wood stand, a pair of hardstone bowls, of circular form on a circular foot with flared mouth, the stone of spinach green colour, 12cm diameter, associated wood stands, a soapstone carving, with dragons chasing coins, 11.8cm long, and a Qingbai glazed bowl, of circular form on a circular foot, the interior with incised foliage, covered under a sky blue glaze stopping below the rim, 11.3cm diameter (10) Provenance: The collection of David Widdicombe QC (1924-2019); thence by descent. Condition report: Jade figure - purchased from Kwok Gallery, Singapore, 18 September 1978, $5100 Singapore dollars. Natural cracks to stone. Bi disc - receipt from Kwok Gallery, Singapore, 18 September 1978, $1530 Singapore dollars. Natural cracks to stone. Soapstone - natural cracks, surface scratches, small chips and knocks to edges. Hardstone bowls - one bowl cracked. Qingbai glazed bowl - chips to the rim.
