A Chinese blue and white stand, Wanli (1573-1620), of circular form, the openwork body modelled with five ruyi-shaped heads, the sides decorated with birds perched amongst fruiting and blossoming branches, all above a band decorated with florets and waves, the inverted rim with the Eight Buddhist Emblems flanking a rectangular cartouche containing a six-character Wanli reign mark, 23.5cm diameter For a similar lot, see Sotheby's, St George Street, 10 November 2017, lot 243, and Sotheby's, Hong Kong, 8 October 2019, lot 119. 明万历 青花缠枝莲八宝纹底座 Condition report: Surface scratches. The base with firing cracks. Glaze with frits, small chips and burst bubbles to edges. A hairline crack to the base of one ruyi head.
