A collection of antique mortars, consisting of: a 16th century bronze example, with four animal mask lugged handles interspersed with calligraphic panels, 16cm diameter 11cm high, a large cast iron example with looped handles, 22cm diameter 17cm high, a further cast iron and three brass examples, the largest 13cm high (6) Condition report: Various conditions. Bronze - with old chips and casting flaws, scratches light pitting and wear, convex bottom so doesn't sit level iron examples - both heavily pitted one with crack to the rim and both with old chips to the foot rim. Brass all rubbed and dented misshapen to rims and foot rims.
