A Newcastle light baluster drinking glass, c.1750, of typical tall proportions, the bell bowl naively engraved with a bird, over a stem with teared waisted knop and further inverted baluster knop, raised on a conical folded foot, 20.5cm high, together with a wine glass, c.1740, the trumpet bowl with engraved foliate design over a plain stem and conical foot, 19cm high (2) Condition report: Newcastle glass ‘leans’ to one side. Otherwise good order commensurate with age. We believe the second example to be English.
