A silver presentation bowl, by Daniel & John Wellby, London 1894, inscribed 'Commodores Cup 1897 Won by Lieut.H.R.Crooke', with partial fluted decoration, with an ebonised stand with applied plaque, by William Huttons & Sons Ltd., London 1896, further inscribed 'Won at Cando Bay Gran Canary by 1st Cutter H.M.S Calypso and 17 men sailbed by Lieut., Crooke 18th January 1897', 25.8cm diameter 16.5cm high 28cm high, with stand, all within a fitted case, 36.7ozt Condition report: Some slight dents and misshapen sections. Rubbing to decoration and inscriptions commensurate with age. Some lose of ebonised finish on base. The cash with surface marks, knocks and 'crackled' finish. Handles removable but present. Wear and losses to lining of case.
