A chinoiserie-decorated longcase clock, early 18th century and later, by John Hayden, Deptford, the eight-day movement striking the hours on a bell, the square brass dial with silvered chapter ring and date aperture, the faux tortoiseshell case with a pagoda top and brass ball finials, decorated all-over with oriental scenes, figures amongst landscapes and highlighted in gilt, 52cm wide 26cm deep 236cm high Condition report: Movement extensively restored following bomb damage in WW1, recorded as such with a scratched-in inscription to the underside of the seat board. The case with extensive restorations and additions, replacement backboard, hood rebuilt and restored, brass cased weights, bob pendulum, winder and key present.
