The canvas is in plane with good tension. The painting has suffered from damage at the upper right quadrant with areas of fill and overpaint. There are small areas of loss, notably in the sky, although the paint layer appears stable. There is a thin varnish layer which is very matte. In the darker paint passages a hazy bloom is forming in the texture of the brushstrokes.
