A French Louis XV tortoiseshell, brass and ormolu-mounted bracket clock, 18th century and later, in the manner of André-Charles Boulle (1642-1732), the case of balloon shape, surmounted by a seated putto, housing a movement by Mon Franjus Raison & Boyer Successeurs, the brass and enamel dial set with Roman and Arabic numerals, on scrolling feet and a matching bracket, 23.5cm wide 15cm deep 62cm high (2) Condition report: Movement appears to be a 19th-century addition. Rubbing and wear to gilding. Some losses and splits to brass and tortoiseshell. Splits to dial. Some small chips and cracks to enamel. Evidence of alteration and repair. Bracket possibly associated. Some mounts loose. Loss to one ormolu mount at the back of the surmount. Pendulum present but no key. Movement appears in need of attention. General wear commensurate with age.
