玉牌呈扁平椭圆形，由和田白玉雕琢而成，材质精美，玉质油润细腻，洁白通透，形制规整，打磨细致而有玻璃光泽。上端作连理枝镂空绳纹状牌头，正面浅浮雕一对提足展翅的比翼鸟，鸱吻微张，凝神对视，有比翼齐飞之义，无论冠、喙、羽、翼，皆精工细作；勾、勒、碾、琢都悉心周到。上方雕琢“比翼”二字，线条流畅精到。牌身背面同样浅浮雕一对展翅回首相互环绕的比翼鸟纹饰，环环相绕，水乳交融，其中一鸟口衔连理枝，上方雕琢“同心”二字。比翼鸟是中国古代传说中的鸟名，白乐天有诗云：『在天愿作比翼鸟，在地愿为连理枝』，常用来比喻夫妻恩爱情深。牌身正下方中间有一通孔，用以配挂流苏之用。整器用料考究，包浆自然，刀法娴熟，寓意夫荣妻贵，为清代馈赠新囍之佳品。
