He was enrolled to the Fine Arts Department of Nanjing Central University in 1928, learning from Xu Beihong. In 1929, he went to Europe to further his study and graduated in 1935 from Académie royale des beaux-arts de Bruxelles. He had been vice president, president and honorary president of China Central Academy of Fine Arts, president of China Artists Association, etc. Wu received the Commandeur de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres from the French government in 1985.上款简介： 金实秋 1986年调江苏省文化厅。曾任南京博物院副院长、南京中国近代史博物馆筹备组常务副主任、南京中国近代史遗址博物馆副馆长，退休后任过江苏省太平天国史学会秘书长及汪曾祺研究会副会长等。
