笔插圆雕成竹节形，一长一短，高低错落有致，竹节疏朗有别，体现竹之先后生发。外壁圆雕嫩竹、桃枝，近足处浮雕灵芝一棵，灵动可爱。中膛掏空，用于插笔，两竹侧各停驻一鹤一鹿，或低头寻觅或回首张望，体态端庄高雅，寓意“鹿鹤同春”。通体碧玉雕，益增其古色古香的神韵，可谓形色两宜，发思古幽情。笔插为为明清两代文房用器之一种，用于插放毛笔与徽墨，置于案头，时添新鲜，且增书香。整器其造型独特，琢工精细，古朴润泽，浑圆厚重，为文房佳品。参考：故宫博物院藏清乾隆碧玉花插香港苏富比，清18世纪 碧玉桃树桩式花插，成交价400，000元来源：原日本东京藏家旧藏
