本品造型生动可爱，为乾隆时期仿生瓷经典之作。釉面光而顺，抚之滑如珠玉，通体施窑变釉，釉色由红渐变为紫，紫中带蓝，晕散交融，迤逦散开。窑变釉是颜色釉品种之一，瓷器在室内烧成时，由于釉中含有多种呈色元素，经氧化或还原作用，出窑后，釉面色彩斑澜，呈现出意想不到的效果，俗语有“窑变无双”的说法。
