He was hired by the Advertising Department of Nanyang Brothers Tobacco Co., Ltd. in 1917 where he was responsible for creating advertisement on calendars. In 1927, he founded Baisheng Painting Academy. Male Cultivating and Female Weaving is one of his representative works.
