19th Century Photographic Album, New England. Approximately 73 mostly 1/9th and 1/16th-plate daguerreotype and tintype images of Civil War-era individuals taken in photo studios in Nashua NH and Windsor VT, inserted into a tooled leather-bound album. The album front and backs with arabesques in low relief and inset with four white glass "pearls" with the spine also with scrolling tooled leather framing the word "ALBUM" in gilt lettering. Two brass straps hold the album closed. Some images with indications to versos of place and person New England Circa 1860-1870, several later. {Approximate dimensions: Image sizes: 1 1/2" x 1 3/8" to 3" x 2 1/4"Album size: 5 3/8" x 7 1/2" x 2 1/4"} From a Bay Area private collection. Condition: Good condition, the leather binding with some wear, scratches and abrasions. The applied foliate and glass bead flourish to lower strap absent. A few pages are loose, some torn printed "frames" to interior pages. Some images with scratches, black dots from developing issues. Most are in good condition relative to age.
