铭文：|1.羚羊峡石。|2.秋山青兮秋月白，挂角端兮傲灵。我将求兮默无迹。征明。 |说明：砚为端石，长方，开蝉形砚池，雕工圆润浑朴，包浆厚重，石色紫中带黄，纯净细腻。蝉餐风饮露，是在中国传统文化中是高洁的象征，蝉形砚或蝉形池砚为明代常见形制。配红木天盖。||铭者简介：文征明（1470～1559），初名壁，字征明，更字征仲，号衡山、停云，别号衡山居士，斋名停云馆，江苏苏州人。贡至京师，授翰林院待诏。文师吴宽。书学李应祯，擅行草与小楷，尤其小楷温纯精绝。绘画初师沈周，后致力于赵孟俯、王蒙、吴镇诸家，于山水、人物、花卉无所不精，是继沈周之后吴门画派的领袖。与沈周、唐寅、仇英合称“明四家”。
