|提盒是用来盛放物品的容器，因其有提梁便携带，故名提盒。至明代，长方形提盒的样式基本固定。古代商铺和饭馆常备提盒，以运送食品或小件货物。后来，在文人的参与设计下，提盒的形制变得更为精巧，工艺也更加讲究，演变成外出时用来盛放毛笔、墨盒和印章的用具。清代多用紫檀、红木制作提盒，本品为红木做，三层纳匣，以铜包边角，精致考究。
