铭文：玉池。余官于粤，徧采东西两洞，惟得此片石以为箧中之珍秘云。玉樵。 |说明：砚为端石所制，作长方淌池式，圆角，砚池深峻，线条挺拔流利，石色灰紫，石质纯净，锋芒内蕴，下墨如风，为文房实用佳品。配红木砚盒|铭者简介：钮琇（？～1704） ，字玉樵，江苏吴江县人。学者、文学家、易学家。康熙十一年壬子拔贡生。历任河南省项城县知县、陕西白水县知县兼摄沈邱蒲城事，广东省高明县令。为官清廉，颇有政声。清初文言小说选集《虞初新志》选录其作品。
