作者简介：雷圭元（1906～1988），生于上海松江。1921年赴法国留学，1931年回国后任教于国立杭州艺术专科学校图案系主任，1945年任实用美术系主任。著名工艺美术家及工艺美术教育家。着有《工艺美术技法讲话》、《新图案学》、《新图案的理论和作法》等，均作为当时大学所设课程的教材，这些著述在图案的理论和技法上进行了系统的论述，对开拓我国工艺美术教育事业起了重要作用。
