此花觚由碧玉雕就，用料富足，体量较大，为文房陈设美器，造型仿自西周青铜器，四方出戟，其余则素面为之，展现玉质润美。早期之觚为饮酒之器，《说文解字》释曰：“觚，饮酒之爵也，受三升者谓之觚。”后有花觚作为雅室插花、陈设用，至清中期出玉制器。刘月川：中国玉石雕刻大师款识：月川 雅园
