鬲式炉是自明代铸造铜炉以来的经典炉型，其型源自上古吉金青铜鼎彝之器。此铜炉扁宽，平口内收，下削为颈，斜弧成腹；中有弦纹装饰，将两部分隔开，恰到好处；内膛整理规整，下承三足，颇见气势，稳如泰山，整体器型极为规整端正，可谓官铸精工。该炉用材精良，叩之其声清越。包浆浑厚，藏经色皮，色泽圆润光滑。其造型素雅且朴实静穆，令人观之忘俗，抚之心怡，气韵高古。
