Monumental bronze holy water bucket for church use, early Gothic, late 15th century/early 16th century, Rhineland, with beautiful patina, Diameter top 23 cm, Diameter bottom 19.2 cm, Height without handle 17 cm, Height with handle approx. 37 cm. The object is composed of the following parts: the bucket (cast and turned), the two attachments (cast and riveted to the bucket), the handle cast in the shape of a cloverleaf. The bucket cantilevers to the top and has a beautiful profiling and patina. The purchased aspergillum is of a later date, perhaps 18th century. The bucket naturally has signs of wear, especially at the bottom.
