水晶，为石英的一种，无色透明晶体，古代称为“水玉”。古代王公贵族更以水晶雕琢精美的摆件显示他们的权贵。清宫旧藏的水晶摆件，以乾隆朝最为精湛。此器质地纯净，由一整块水晶雕琢而成。形制截取于“如意”，上雕饰花卉纹饰，如意头的雕琢圆润，打磨光滑。整器器形小巧，材质光泽闪亮，吉祥寓意，实为文房佳器。
