A Japanese Arita blue and white pitcher with later Dutch silver lid and mountsCa. late 17th century, JapanA bulbous body with slender neck and a generous handle. The lower body decorated with figures in a landscape, the neck also shows a figure in a landscape. Not marked. The Dutch silver lid added in the 19th century with an engraved flower on the top.H 21 cm, L 14.5 cm, No apparent damage or restoration. Possibly beneath the silver mounts some chipping or damage to the top rim. The silver lid is somewhat bent at the hinge so the lid doesn't close properly (see photos).
