Two blue and white bowlsKangxi period, ca. 1700, China, The property of a Dutch nobleman.Provenance: Johannes Bieruma Oosting (1842-1902) and his wife Cornelia Charlotte Brantsma (1848-1894), by descent to their daughter Agatha Victoria Bieruma Oosting (1875-1968). And by descent to the present owner. The bowls decorated on the outside with Buddhist symbols and florals. The inside with a central floral motif and a border along the top rim with stylized scrolling lotus. Marked with a six-character Chenghua mark but made during the Kangxi period.D 11.5 cm, H 6 cm, Rim frits/chips and one small hairline. No other damage and no restoration.
