A blue and white sugar sifter with Dutch silver lid and mountsKangxi period, ca. 1700, ChinaOriginally a Chinese porcelain vase, but during the 19th century it was turned into a sugar sifter when a silver base mount and pierced cover were added. The silver (835/1000) is marked for Widow C.J. Middendorp, Rotterdam, who was active 1889-1895. Slight traces of giling remain just visible on the porcelain.H 23.5 cm, Good condition, no chips, no cracks and no restoration. The porcelain below the fixed silver mounts not checked.
