盖盒以铜为胎，整体呈圆形，两面均工，外壁通体以剔红工艺装饰，盒璧满雕花卉纹，盖面横折锦纹作天，回字锦纹为水，“卍”字锦纹为地，犹如仙门洞开，但见二老于凉亭之侧的攀谈，有童子相伴，周围寿石嶙峋，古松丰茂，远处祥云迤逦，水波澹澹。
整器剔漆深厚，漆色深红悦目，雕漆技法娴熟，刀锋隐漆圆润，细节处理得当，时代特征鲜明。
