Ca. 500 AD. A bronze cruciform brooch with a carinated bow, rectangular head-plate, and frontal knob. Decorated with incised patterns. These brooches were produced in a variety of shapes and sizes, and were typically used to secure clothing and other textiles, such as cloaks or veils. Cf. R.
