此件印章为将军洞石材质，质地厚如凝乳，密实紧结。作平台兽钮，古兽祖本综合了清代经典的宫廷范式，进行了改良与融汇贯通，躯体饱满，肌肉块面塑造入微，总体来看，充满一种雍容华贵之感。 古兽的鬃毛齐整，尾部分层清晰，均效法古制，但双腿的肌肉、筋骨型感依旧是典型的潘氏雕刻风格。古兽背部的装饰纹涡形、线刻游丝并列，在厚重之外，更有华美之气。这样的作品，在其历来的创作中极为少见，是潘氏近年于突破自我风格之际，一件异常成功的实验性作品。
