此作为姚仲达早期作品，坑头晶犹如玉露凝冰，澄澈通明。制兽钮，为保留材质之美，虽起印台，但兽身未作过多的镂刻，仅仅营造回旋转动的体态。同时，为了呼应材质的轻灵气息，造型上使用柔软的躯体线条，强调古兽灵巧轻捷的特征。雕刻在印台周围的博古回纹精湛细巧，与完全抛弃装饰纹的兽身对比，这种工稳的细节雕刻，亦很好地烘托出了钮头上简约清爽的美感。
