“丹葩映水迎朝旭，翠叶翻风泻露香”。蔚蓝天空下，荷花池塘内，荷花盛开，荷叶舒展，一对鸳鸯戏水，神态惟妙惟肖。毛羽的处理是先缂绣出主要轮廓，再皴染加绘细密部分，缂加绘处理巧妙得当。观其画面构图，以写实生动的绘画作品为底稿，花叶翻转、摇曳之姿，表现得惟妙惟肖，颇具宋元遗风，作者将鸳鸯与荷莲的造型塑造得栩栩如生，透过精湛的技术与艺术修养，掌握原粉本之精神，自然生动，逼真传神。此件作品与耕织堂旧藏“清中期缂丝荷花鸳鸯图”系出自于同一粉本。
