清宫流传的如意颇多，但以玉雕如意最受世人的青睐，惟玉如意多以白玉或碧玉琢之，且造型多做工整的云叶式。是件如意既以整块上等岫玉雕成，同时造型取材自具有浓郁文人气韵的灵芝式。不仅如此，是件岫玉灵芝式如意，在以灵芝为造型之余，又以高浮雕技法巧饰寓意“富贵长寿 可如人意”的“灵芝”纹样。乾隆即曾于其御制诗提及：“处处座之傍，率陈如意常，虽图语告吉，艰致兆频祥。”鲜见当时帝王对如意的喜好，确实情有独锺矣。
