Adorned by a flaming mandorla reflecting Nepalese designs from the Late Malla period, this retinue figure most likely occupied a sculptural mandala dedicated to Chakrasamvara and his female consort.See an earlier Tibetan copper alloy of the same retinue figure, sold at Bonhams, New York, 14 March 2016, lot 8, together with a similarly parcel-gilded figure of Naro Dakini with strong Nepalese characteristics in the Rubin Museum of Art (C.2005.16.47; HAR 65470).Provenance:Ashencaen and Leonov, London, 2000s
