A CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN BRUSHPOT, BITONG, QING DYNASTY, KANGXI PERIOD, 1662 - 1722 清康熙 青花寿字圖纹及博古紋開光筆筒 The slightly waisted cylindrical body rising from a flat base with central circular recess, painted around the exterior in rich cobalt-blue tones with two pairs of cloud-scroll cornered rectangular panels, one pair with quatrefoil panels enclosing antiques and all reserved on a dense foliate diaper ground, the other pair with cell-diaper, each cell enclosing a stylised shou-character Height: 16.5cm Diameter: 18cm For a similar, but smaller brushpot, see Christie`s New York, 22nd March 2013, lot 1466 Condition Report The brush pot has been broken into approximately four pieces and restored and has two associated cracks of circa 20cm each, running around the lower edge of the body.
