款识：平山 山月 |砚屏以紫檀老料做框及底座，框内一面以螺钿茜色镶仙人图，另一面以螺钿镶诗句“三山半落清（青）天外 ”，落款“平山”，“山月”。该屏用料考究，工艺繁复，原皮壳，品相保存完好，十分难得。|屏者，屏风也。《淮南子.时则》云：“授车以级皆正设于屏外”。屏风乃敝障之物，砚之有屏，皆在挡风、蔽日，装饰也。传砚屏始于苏东坡、黄庭坚二人，因日光或烛光投射墨汁之余光甚伤目，故制砚屏以挡之。可见，屏风自古就是文人墨客案头雅玩。
