|明黄成《髹饰录·坤集·雕镂第十·剔红》记载：“剔红，即雕红漆也。……宋元之制，藏锋清楚，隐起圆滑，纤细精致。”此盖盒即剔红而成，造型为蔗段式圆盒，平顶而直壁，平底浅内凹为器足。器内及底部髹黑漆，盖面及周壁以剔红雕漆为饰。盖面以锦文为地，其上轧雕庭院人物图。所表现情境富有生活意趣，山石、草木、祥云环抱的庭院之中，仕女为童子涤洗，身旁几名顽童嬉戏玩闹，体现了古人寻求多子多福，生活美满之美好吉意。整器做工严谨，造型端丽，纹饰刻绘精细，儿童面目清晰，动作天真浪漫，惹人喜爱。
