A large carved Cizhou jar, Jin-Yuan Dynasty, 13th-14th century, A Shanxi black-glazed stoneware vase with carved-back decoration revealing the reddish/buff coloured body. The pattern of bold floral scrolls and line decoration. Jars like these were used to store wine and would have had a textile cloth tied over the neck., H 32 cm, D 33 cm, Wear from age and use but no major damage or condition issues. No restoration. Some glaze irregularities and manufacturing flaws.
