EnglandSterling silver by NATHAN & HAYES of pierced decoration with crossheads, beaded friezes and flowers, the centre with bird perched on branch. Classical masks handles on scrolls and acanthus ground.Hallmarks: Lion passant, anchor, date letter T, master goldsmith George NATHAN & Ridley HAYES (1889-1915).Birmingham, 1893(in very good condition)注意: NATHAN & HAYESGeorge NATHAN and Ridley HAYES, goldsmiths, register their first joint mark in Birmingham in 1897. They are particulalry well known for their somewhat precocious interpretation of the "Arts & Crafts" style on silver objects, having produced tea sets, boxes, bowls, baskets and writing sets.They also made replicas of important pieces, including those originating from archaeological discoveries, namely from Mycenae and Assyria.Retailing under the name NATHAN & HAYES they opened stores in Birmingham and in London's Hatton Street.HAYES seems to disappear from the records in 1912, although the firm maintains its operation under the same NATHAN & HAYES name. It will later be rescued by S.
