A RARE RU-TYPE ARCHAISTIC BALUSTER VASE, ZUN Qianlong seal mark and of the period (2)PROPERTY FROM THE CHENYUEZHAI COLLECTION (LOTS 23-29)塵月齋藏品 (拍品編號23-29)A RARE RU-TYPE ARCHAISTIC BALUSTER VASE, ZUNQianlong seal mark and of the periodModelled as a flattened archaic bronze hu, the rounded sides resting on a slightly sprayed foot rising to a slightly flared mouthrim, the waisted neck flanked by a pair of stylised relief-moulded pushou ring handles, covered overall in a pale greenish-blue glaze and moulded with three raised bands, the base inscribed with a six-character mark in seal script, box. 34cm (13 1/2in) high. (2).清乾隆 仿汝釉弦紋鋪首啣環尊青花「大清乾隆年製」篆書款Provenance:The Chenyuezhai Collection來源:塵月齋收藏Celadon wares in a luminous and translucent bluish-green glaze suffused with a dense network of glistening ice crackles made in Chai yao and Ru yao during the Five Dynasties and Northern Song dynasty were admired for achieving glazes of a specific shade ("approaching the blue of the sky after rain"), it was copied by the talented Imperial Porcelain Manufactory superintendent Tang Yin (1682-1756) at Jingdezhen in the Yongzheng and early Qianlong reigns according to Imperial Records. The present vase belongs to this rare group of Ru-type wares copying Ru wares sent from the Court collection to Jingdezhen. Its shape is possibly derived from a Zhou dynasty ritual bronze hu vessel recorded in the Xiqing gujian [Catalogue of Chinese ritual bronzes in the collection of the Qianlong Emperor], vol.20, p.12.The fashion of archaistic vases reached its peak during the Qianlong reign. For example see a related Qianlong mark and period Ru-type pushou vase in the Nanjing Museum collection, illustrated in The Official Kiln Porcelain of the Chinese Qing Dynasty, Shanghai, 2003, p.331; for its Yongzheng variants, see a Yongzheng mark and period celadon-glazed pushou vase in the Zhuyuetang Collection, illustrated by Peter Y.K. Lam, Shimmering Colours. Monochromes of the Yuan to Qing Periods. The Zhuyuetang Collection, Hong Kong, 2005, no.76.尊口圓唇,頸內收,圓肩,鼓腹,下腹下收至圈足,略外撇,尊身飾三道弦紋,兩側貼浮雕銜環鋪首,通體施仿汝釉,其色如雨過天青,發細碎冰裂紋。 明代謝肇淛《文海披沙記》記載周世宗柴榮御定柴窯釉色:「雨過天青雲破處,這般顏色做將來。」後世又以為形容汝釉之色。唐英於《陶成紀事碑記》記載御窯廠雍正乾隆年間開發之釉色瓷器種類,其中有「一仿銅骨魚子紋汝釉仿內發宋器色澤」。可知御窯廠仿古釉色,係依據北京發送至景德鎮的內廷收藏宋瓷所作。所謂魚子紋,即細碎冰裂紋。此尊器型仿古,亦是參照內廷所藏銅器所製,可參考《西清古鑒》著錄一件周獸環壺,或為本件所仿原器,見清代梁詩正等編,《西清古鑒》,北京,乾隆十六年(1751年)內廷刊本,卷20,頁12。南京博物院藏一件乾隆仿汝青灰釉鋪首尊與本件頗似,見徐湖平編,《中國清代官窯瓷器》,上海,2003年,頁331。此類仿古器型及釉色之瓷器雍正朝便有燒造,竹月堂藏一件清雍正粉青釉弦紋鋪首瓶,形制與本件類同,惟釉色相異,見香港中文大學文物館編,《五色瓊霞:竹月堂藏元明清一道釉瓷器》,香港,2005年,編號76。
