He is performing one of the 108 karana positions of his dance originating from Shiva's Tandava dance, a masculine and divine dance. His right leg is kicked out to his right and he is holding his toe. He has four arms, one is holding the fire agni and the other the drum or damaru. One hand is simply dangling beside his supporting bent leg. He is dressed in a short ornamental dhoti and his torso is ornamented with jewellery. His head is bent to his left, he is smiling. His wavy hair is done up in a high chignon also decorated with jewellery, small braids fall down his back.
