Pottery vase shaped "Dan ping" 胆瓶 covered with a purple flambé glaze in the Junyao style (钧窑紫斑). During the Qing dynasty, pieces in this style were made in imperial kilns with the seal of the Yongzheng and Qianlong emperors as an homage to Song and Jun potterys. The variety of colours achieved for the naturally flowing glaze became a characteristic of this dynasty. The shape of the vase is slender, with a high neck and a rounded belly, which keeps its proportions. The rim of the vase is covered with a gold line and the interior is in monochrome enamel, as is the base, with the square mark '乾隆年制' (qiánlóng nián zhì) inscribed in the center.Height: 23 cm; Diameter: approx. 6 cmProvenance: European private collection
