Gilt bronze and red polychrome with patina and wear.It depicts the figure of Guanyin, seated on a throne, showing a serene face, with her gaze directed downwards. She is dressed in a multi-layered ceremonial robe with a belt. Her hands palm up and grasping the strings of the belt. Her hair is tied back on the crown of her head, with a few strands of it flowing down her back. The crown is elaborately decorated with a smaller representation of the goddess on the forehead. Finally, the rest of the jewelry is a ruyi-shaped necklace and large earrings dangling from her elongated lobes.Height: 24 cm; Base size: 9 x 10 cm; Overall width: 11.80 cm; Weight: 1458 g.Provenance:Private collection, Glückstern family.
