TABLE BASSE EN HUANGHUALI, KANGXVIIe/XVIIIe siècle A HUANGHUALI LOW TABLE, KANG 17th/18th century The rectangular panel top set within a rectangular frame carved with a beaded, 'ice-plate' edge above a plain narrow waist surrounded by a shaped, beaded, cusped apron, all raised on elegant cabriole legs carved at the corners with lion masks and terminating in claw feet. 96.5cm (38in) wide x 59cm (23 2/8in) deep x 29.5cm (11 5/8in) high. Provenance: Jean-Pierre Rousset, Paris (1936-2021), acquired in the 1980's Kang tables were typically used on top of a platform, kang , or a couch-bed or daybed.
