GRAND PANNEAU IMPÉRIAL EN LAQUE TIANQI ET QIANGJIN À DÉCOR D'UN DRAGON ET DE SON PETITLe panneau XVIIIe siècle, la partie basse, européenne XXe siècle A LARGE IMPERIAL TIANQI AND QIANGJIN 'DRAGON AND YOUNG' LACQUER PANEL The panel, 18th century; the European lower section, 20th century The rectangular top colourfully decorated in polychrome and gilt with a ferocious five-clawed dragon writhing amidst wispy clouds, gazed at by a young dragon emerging from crashing waves and rockwork at the sides, all within a diaper border, and above a lacquered European frame supported by four cabriole legs and a shaped apron decorated with bats interspersed amidst floral scrolls and Shou characters. Overall, 171cm (67 1/2in) long x 83.5cm (32 7/8in) wide x 41cm (16 1/8in) high.
