Granada ceiling lantern from the 19th century. Patinated brass and glass. Electrified. It presents some faults and damages. Measurements: 80 x 40 x 40 cm; 130 cm. high in total. Granadino lantern of octagonal structure in chiselled and embossed brass with foliate designs between volutes and projections in the shape of foliage. The top and base are decorated with vegetal-inspired openwork. Glass body. The famous lanterns of Granada, some of which are unique because of their beauty and the fact that the model is never repeated, have a Visigothic origin. Granadine craftsmanship uses gilded brass, copper and tinplate, joined with tin and sometimes gold-plated, as a support for transparent or coloured glass.
