In this perhaps more serious artistic turn, the present lot is a rare and superb example of Yamagata's use of holographic material in sculpture. The cube, recalling both Minimalism and Light & Space artistic movements, engages its environment and changes as the viewer interacts in that shared space. Yamagata's work has been widely exhibited internationally for decades, including at the Guggenheim Museum, Bilbao.
